Tekashi69 has been released from confinement, as per a Judge’s order. Judge Paul Engelamyer who ordered the U.S Bureau of Prisons to release Tekashi69 from confinement, gave the order on the grounds that the rapper had few months left before the completion of his sentence, hence it was necessary to release his prison, and also because he is vulnerable to contacting the COVID-19.

Tekashi69 will, however, be serving the remainder of the four months of his sentence on house arrest, with a GPS electronic monitor attached to him at all times. The only times he would be allowed to leave the house would be for medical treatment, or if he needs to see his attorney, and additionally he will be checking in with his Probation Officer daily.

Earlier, Tekashi69’s lawyers pleaded for him to be released on the ground that the rapper had asthma, and if he contracted the virus while being in confinement, he could die. So, yesterday, the prosecution told the court that it had no problem allowing the rapper to spend the remainder of his sentence at home, so he has been released.
