According to a classmate, the man accused of killing four college students in Idaho appeared to be in excellent spirits and more “energetic” in class after he had completed his evil work.

Bryan Kohberger, the alleged murderer, was a graduate student at Washington State University pursuing a PhD in criminology. He had just received his criminal justice degree from Pennsylvania’s DeSales University.

B.K. Norton told the New York Times that they both took graduate classes at WSU with Kohberger and that they soon picked up on certain warning signs that hadn’t been apparent earlier in the semester after learning about the horrible killings.

Norton emailed the NYT that “[Bryan] seemed more upbeat and willing to carry a conversation.” Kohberger, they said, had a strong interest in forensic psychology.

They claimed Kohberger had a reserved but serious manner that unnerved many around him. Additionally, he made comments that were evident to be anti-LGBTQ.

When he did speak, it was highly brilliant and he wanted everyone to know it, according to Norton. This made him kind of creepy to others.

After an FBI SWAT team stormed a home where Kohberger was residing, he was taken into custody on Friday in Monroe County, Pennsylvania.

He was accused of killing Kaylee Gonclaves, Maddie Mogen, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin on November 13 on four charges of first-degree murder in Idaho.

University of Idaho students made up all four victims. No motive has been given by the police.

In anticipation of his extradition back to Idaho, Kohlberger is now being held without bond in Pennsylvania. Tuesday will mark a hearing on extradition.
