Following Pop Smoke’s murder, several arrests have reportedly been carried out. According to TMZ, the Los Angeles Police Department served multiple search warrants around L.A. early Thursday Morning, and five people were already arrested on warrants in connection to the rapper’s murder.

The report says Three adults and two juveniles were arrested. However, it’s still unclear what the suspects are being charged with at the moment, but all five will reportedly be interviewed by police before being booked.

“We are confident we have the five individuals responsible for the killing of Bashar Jackson — Pop Smoke,” LAPD Capt. Jon Tippet told the Los Angeles Times.

The arrests have come closely five months after the Brooklyn rapper was shot and killed. On the morning of Feb. 19, four masked men entered his rented Hollywood Hills home and shot multiple times at him. Pop Smoke was fatally wounded, and he was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Meanwhile, the authorities have said the assailants did not know the rapper personally. But they may have discovered his location after he inadvertently posted an image with the home’s address on Instagram. “We believe that Pop Smoke posted his location on social media, and that is how they found him,” Tippet said.

Also, Tippet revealed that the people in custody are associated with a Los Angeles gang. Previously, Pop had been tied to the Crips, and detectives suspected his killers were gang members.

On Friday, Pop Smoke’s posthumous debut album Shoot for the Stars Aim for the Moon was released featuring 50 Cent, Quavo, Lil Baby, DaBaby, Swae Lee, Future, Tyga, and more. The album is expected to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 210-230,000 equivalent album units.
