Safety tips for the holidays- It is the most wonderful time of the year, and not just about the music, but the fact that this is truly a season of wonders. You may wonder why you need the safety tips but trust me, your preparations are not complete if you do not consider the safety tips that we would be discussing shortly.
Statistically, there is a 30% increase in retail crimes during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. This is because most people are out shopping and this definitely places citizens at serious risk of being mugged, shot at, or harmed in the process of achieving this. Let us not forget the possibility of burglary or home invasion.
To combat this and to ensure that you and your folks are safe during the yuletide, kindly look at the safety tips we have arranged for you for the holidays:
1. If You See Something, Say Something.
One way to stop crime is to stop crime before it is committed. Irrespective of how difficult this may sound, it is highly possible to stop a crime before it happens. 3. Lock Up The House Properly Before You Travel.
If your plans for the holiday are taking a trip somewhere else, then you should ensure that your home is secured, Aside from installing a security system, ensure that the doors and windows of all the rooms in your place are securely locked.
4. Inform Someone Close To You Of Your Movement.
When you have to step out of the house alone, do well to inform anyone close to you. This is to help for your quick location in case of danger of being abducted. While we hope that this does not happen, the increase in crime rate during the holidays can have criminals going into various other similar crimes.
