On Monday night, Atlanta restaurant owned by 2 Chainz was ordered to close for breaking the COVID-19 rules. Reports from TMZ says that Georgia State Police drove pass Escobar Lounge and Restaurant when they “noticed that the location was rather loud, busy, and occupied to be operating as a restaurant at that time of night.”

Even videos shared on Escobar’s Instagram page revealed that the place was operating as usual, not minding the social distancing rules. As the restaurant and lounge hosted a Memorial Day weekend party on Monday, there was little or no social distancing observed, and no face masks were sighted.

At the Escobar Lounge and Restaurant that night, a long line formed outside the entrance, while guests inside danced, ordering bottle service, and smoked hookah.

However, the Memorial Day celebration was cut short for the customers after the police intervened. The cops reportedly spoke to the manager before shutting down Escobar for “violating executive orders regarding protocol issued due to COVID-19.”

Back in April, meanwhile, 2 Chainz had decided to delay sit-down service at his restaurant and offer takeout only due to the coronavirus pandemic. Rather, he announced that he would be giving back to his community by feeding the homeless.

Georgia updated its restaurant reopening guidelines earlier this month, limiting dine-in service to 10 patrons max per table and allowing 10 patrons inside per 300 square feet of public service. Escobar Lounge and Restaurant had reopened following this update earlier this month.
