A 47-year-old guy has died, and three others were injured after a chain of incidents on Skye and Wester Ross during the morning of Wednesday, 10 August.
Police had first been called to the Tarskavaig region on Skye quickly before 9 am after a report of a 32-year-old lady having been severely injured at a property.
She has been taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for remedy.
In addition, another incident at a property in the Teangue region on Skye was said shortly after 9.30 am after a firearm was discharged.
Emergency services attended, but the 47-year-old guy died on the scene.
Officers finally came to property in the Dornie region in Wester Ross following a further firearm discharge at a property.
A man was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness to treat for severe accidents, and a lady was taken to Broadford Hospital.
A 39-year-old guy has been arrested for all the incidents being handled as linked. He turned into additionally taken to Raigmore Hospital.
The research into those incidents is being led by Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Team, helping nearby officers.
Chief Superintendent Conrad Trickett, nearby policing commander for Highlands and Islands Division, said: “Incidents such as this are extraordinarily uncommon, but I understand that this can have a significant effect on the local community in those rural areas.
“I would like to reassure people that we’re treating those incidents as contained with no wider hazard to the public.
