Off-Duty FBI Agent Fatally Shoots Person At DC’s Metro Center Station, Police Say

Following a physical fight at a metro station in Washington, D.C., an off-duty FBI agent shot and killed the victim, according to authorities.

Shortly before 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, the D.C. Metro Transit Police said they were called to reports of multiple shots being fired on the Red Line platform at the Metro Center station.

During a late-night briefing, Ashan Benedict, executive assistant chief of police for the Metropolitan Police Department, stated that two people, including the agent, got into a fight that resulted in them both falling over a railing on the platform and shooting each other. D.C. resident Troy Bullock, 28, died in the incident, according to a police update on Thursday.

Police claim that Bullock forced the agent to jump over the railing before doing the same. Both of them came to rest approximately eight feet below the railway platform, where an FBI agent started shooting, hitting Bullock, according to the authorities.

Bullock was declared dead at the scene, and police say they found a weapon on him.

According to investigators, the FBI agent was taken to a nearby hospital with critical but not life-threatening injuries.

There is no persistent threat to the public, according to numerous sources.

Investigations into the incident are still ongoing.
