Georgetown Men’s Basketball coach, Patrick Ewing, who is also a former New York Knicks player has tested positive for coronavirus. The unwelcoming news reached lots of fans on Friday after the NBA insider Shams Charania tweeted that the NBA icon tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Shams added that the New York Knicks legend is currently under isolated hospital care, according to Georgetown University.

Meanwhile, the college equally released a statement on Friday afternoon including confirmation from Patrick Ewing himself. Additionally, the legend released a statement from his own Twitter account, revealing to everyone the nature of his health.
“Ewing has elected to share his diagnosis publicly to emphasize that this virus can affect anyone,” the statement reads.
“I want to share that I have tested positive for COVID-19,” Patrick Ewing said himself in the statement. “The virus is serious and should not be taken lightly. I want to encourage everyone to stay safe and take care of yourself and your loved ones. Now more than ever, I want to thank the healthcare workers and everyone on the front lines. I’ll be fine and we will all get through this.”

Besides the news that he is isolated at a local hospital, there is no news on how he is doing at the moment. But all we can do is to pray for the legend for a quick recovery from this deadly disease.
