Multiple Razor Blades Found Hidden In Children’s Halloween Candy As Authorities Search For Suspect

Multiple razor blades were discovered hidden in children’s Halloween Candy, and authorities have narrowed their search for a suspect to a small neighbourhood where families may have gone trick-or-treating for the holiday.

Police in Eugene, Oregon, about 110 miles south of Portland, received a report of a small razor blade hidden in their children’s Halloween candy earlier this week, according to a civic alert issued by the city.
“The razor appears to be similar to a pencil sharpener blade,” said city officials.

The original reporting party lives in Eugene’s Friendly neighbourhood and discovered the small razor blade after inspecting their child’s candy before allowing them to eat it.

However, three more similar reports were made to authorities, all of which occurred between W. 24th Avenue and W. 27th Avenue, between Tyler and Friendly Street in Eugene’s Friendly neighbourhood.

The Eugene Police Department advises parents to double-check their children’s trick-or-treat candy before consuming it,” the civic alert continued.

Authorities have yet to identify the perpetrator of the razor blades, but the Eugene Police Department has launched an ongoing investigation into the case.
Anyone with additional information, reports, or tips about this incident is asked to call the Eugene Police Department at (541) 682-5111.
