Born at Cumberland Hospital in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, Michael Jordan started playing basketball alongside baseball and football when he attended Emsley A. Laney High School in Wilmington.

Owing to his awesome capability with regards to playing basketball, Jordan was recruited by numerous college basketball programs, including Duke, North Carolina, South Carolina, Syracuse, and Virginia. However, In 1981, Jordan accepted a basketball scholarship to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he majored in cultural geography.

Michael Jordan played professionally for the Chicago Bulls, and the Washington Wizards before his retirement in 2003. Within this period, he has received a lot of individual accolades, making him the “greatest basketball player of all time”, according to the NBA website.
