A Washington D.C woman’s dream of owning her salon came to fulfillment as her mentor, who she had managed the salon for, for the past eight years, gives it to her as a “Thank you” package for donating her kidney to him.

The mentee, Acia Williams said she got to know of her mentor’s ailment in 2018, when he stated that he was undergoing dialysis and in search of a new kidney. According to her, she felt it was like a divine intervention telling her to step in and donate her kidney. After it had been shown that Williams was fit to donate her kidney to Bennett, her mentor, the transplant was carried out in April, 2019.
They both stayed at Bennett’s home during the time of recovery, which was when her mentor broke the news to her. The salon held its grand reopening as “The Image by Acia” on Monday.
Indeed, what goes around, comes around.
