Mel Tucker named new coach of Michigan State University Football team

Mel Tucker, aged 48, has been named as the new coach of the Michigan State University Football Team. The 23-year veteran coach will be “returning home” to where he started his coaching career as a graduate assistant under the present head football coach of Alabama, Nick Saban.

Mel Tucker resigned from his position as the head coach at Colorado State University. Before then, he has had experience as a defensive coach for five seasons in the Southeastern Conference (2000, 2015-18), also had four seasons at Ohio State (2001-04), and 10 seasons in the NFL (2005-14). He just landed the head coach position at the Colorado State University last year.

As for his achievements and accomplishments as a head coach, Mel Tucker has been to 11 postseason bowl games and won two national championships with Ohio State University (2002) and Alabama (2015). He has a 106-36 overall record as a full time college football coach.
