Las Vegas Stabbing Victim Says Suspect ‘Had Every Intention’ To Kill

One of the survivors claimed that the man who allegedly went on a stabbing rampage in Las Vegas, leaving two people dead and six more hurt, “had every intention” of killing the victims.

According to an arrest complaint, Yoni Barrios, 32, allegedly sought to take a photo with a group of performers Thursday outside the Wynn Casino before taking a knife away.
According to the complaint, Barrios allegedly told police that he pulled out a black carbon knife from a suitcase and told the women he was a chef before becoming enraged because he believed the women were making fun of his attire and laughing at him.

According to the police report, Barrios “began rushing and hunting for groups of people to get the fury out.

According to the arrest report, surveillance video showed the suspect stabbing a number of victims, including street dancer Maris Mareen DiGiovanni, before heading south along the sidewalk and stabbing victim Brent Hallet.

The report indicated that the offender then turned east down Sands Avenue and stabbed two more victims before continuing to escape south.

DiGiovanni and Hallet both passed away from their wounds.
He “had every intention of killing her [DiGiovanni], killing us,” according to Anna Westby, one of the street performers, who made the statement from her hospital bed.

According to Westby, the suspect came up to them and requested a picture with his logo. . She said, “He brought out a knife after DiGiovanni replied yes.
And we say, “That’s not the logo we were expecting,” “Westby stated.
Then, according to Westby, Barrios allegedly reached for the knife and stabbed DiGiovanni in the chest.

Westby asserted that there was not a single instance in which the suspect was provoked and denied that the group of street performers were making fun of the suspect.

According to a source, Barrios allegedly picked his victims at random. According to Clark County Sheriff Joseph Lombardo, the victims include both residents and visitors.

According to a law enforcement official briefed on the inquiry, he allegedly confessed to authorities, apologizing and accepting that what he did was wrong. The official claimed that Barrios had no cohesive defence, giving the impression that he had lost his cool.

According to the arrest report, surviving street performers later informed police the suspect made them feel uneasy.

According to the report, one of the victims told authorities that Barrios apologized to him as he stabbed him.
According to authorities, three people were in serious condition as of Thursday night, while three others were in stable condition. It is unknown if their circumstances have changed.

According to authorities, Barrios has been charged with two counts of open murder with a deadly weapon and six counts of attempted murder.

He appeared in court on Friday afternoon and was denied bail. He is due back in court on Tuesday.

It wasn’t immediately clear who Barrios’ defence counsel will be.
