Much-maligned Idaho cops, under pressure to find the killer who murdered four college students last month, issued a warning to locals and visitors Saturday as winter commencement festivities began.
Authorities warned those in the area to be cautious and travel in groups during the celebration because the killer was still on the loose, according to the Daily Mail.
“With commencement this weekend, there will be an influx of people coming in from out of town. Moscow Police Department and Idaho State Police will provide coverage on campus and in the Moscow area,” police said in a statement.
More officers are being deployed in the streets and at the university for the commencement, according to Moscow Police Chief James Fry.
“As always, we want to remind the public to stay vigilant, travel in groups, and communicate with family and friends as you travel.”
Police Chief James Fry stated that more officers are being deployed in the streets and at the university in preparation for the event, but he has not released any specific information indicating that cops are closing in on a suspect.
On Saturday morning, Moscow police said they had more than ten investigators looking into the murders and that nearly 50 FBI agents, including some in Moscow, are working to solve the case.
