The long-awaited report of the panel looking into the attack on the U.S. Capitol on January 6 will be made public on Wednesday, December 21, according to Rep. Bennie Thompson, chair of the House committee looking into the incident.
According to Thompson, the committee is still working out the specifics of the public presentation that will accompany the release of the report.
The study and related materials will be made available online, according to Thompson.
Additionally, he stated that any votes on prospective criminal referrals would occur the same day and be made public.
Thompson stated on Tuesday that referrals for criminal prosecution in connection with the Capitol attack were being discussed, but that final decisions — including those regarding particular crimes and particular suspects — had not been made because a vote by the committee members was still pending.
