As a father or mother working from home, while it may be pleasant for you as an adult, it can be challenging as a parent. 1. Time Management.
Look out for how you can properly manage your time to accommodate your work, chores and looking after the children. When you wake up in the morning and prepare the kids for school, eat breakfast with them and when they are gone, you quickly tidy up the house. Then, you can begin to get some office work done. Take a few minutes of break to do some other things around the house and get back when you are done. When they are back from school, as they are doing their homework, quickly prepare dinner and attend to other things. When they sleep off for the night, they finish up the rest of the work. It might not go this way for schedule, but the point we are making is – you can achieve this with proper time management.
2. Do Not Waste Time.
One essential thing you need to know about how to work from home with kids is that time is your greatest resource which you may lack. You need to make time ‘your friend’ by ensuring that every minute is accounted for with you doing something worthwhile. It does not matter how much time you have, just utilise it properly.
3. Make Out Activities That Would Keep Your Kids Busy.
Aside from their homework, create other activities that would keep your kids meaningfully engaged while you work. Sometimes they may not have homework, so it is left for you to create activities that would keep your kids buy will you comfortably work from home.
4. Allow Them To Have Sleepovers On Weekends.
While this should not be a regular practice, give your kids the opportunity of sleeping over in the homes of friends, family relatives. This would not only improve their social life but would give them the chance to get more work done while they enjoy the free space created by their absence.
