According to authorities, a couple wanted in connection with murder cases in Arizona and Nevada was discovered dead in a desert area southeast of Kingman.
The bodies of Hunter McGuire, 26, and his girlfriend, Samantha Beranek, 32, were discovered Friday with gunshot wounds to the head, according to Mohave County Sheriff’s detectives.
According to Lake Havasu City police, McGuire appears to have shot himself, but it’s unclear if Beranek’s wound was self-inflicted. An official cause of death will be determined by the county medical examiner’s office.
According to authorities, the couple was wanted in connection with a double homicide in Kingman on June 28.
McGuire was also named as a suspect in the fatal shooting of a woman in Las Vegas on Monday.
Beranek’s car was allegedly seen at a truck stop in Yucca, sparking a high-speed chase Friday and a four-hour standoff before police discovered the couple dead.
Authorities said they are looking into additional murders that may be linked to McGuire.
