Scarface is revealing that his battle with coronavirus nearly killed him. The legendary rapper explained that he suffered kidney failure, which led to him being placed on dialysis due to complications from COVID-19.

After testing positive for coronavirus last month, the 49-year-old rapper relapsed and was hospitalized again. On speaking with his fellow Geto Boys, Willie D in a Zoom video, the veteran rapper shared an update on his health saying;

“I’m glad to be alive,” Scarface said. “I fought the COVID double bilateral pneumonia, both lungs and kidney failure in my house. When it all went back to shit again, I went back to the hospital. I just got out of the hospital Monday [April 20].”

Showing his dialysis port, he added, “That’s my new lifeline.”

Meanwhile, Scarface never had any kidney issue before testing positive for coronavirus. But to help him fully pull through, doctors have given him a regimen.

“I gotta change my entire diet; I gotta do dialysis four days a week, three hours a day. That’s taking all my blood out, cleaning it, and putting it back in my body,” Scarface explained.

When he was still at home fighting the virus, Scarface had experienced some excruciating symptoms.

“That three weeks, that month that I did in my house, was like hell, bro. I couldn’t keep food down, I couldn’t get comfortable, I couldn’t sleep, I couldn’t stay woke, and as I said, I couldn’t breathe, bro. It was the worst time of my life,” the ‘Smile’ rapper, who probably lost 30 pounds added.

He further explained that he thought he was going to die as things got bad. “Hanging on that string of death makes you really appreciate life because I was inches away from death,” he said. “If you let the doctors tell it, they don’t know how I survived.”

It’s good to see Scarface back to his home from the hospital, as thousands of people have lost their lives worldwide from the deadly disease, including Bronx rapper, Fred The Godson, who passed away last week.
