Biden Forms Interagency Group To Draft Antisemitism Strategy

President Joe Biden launched a new interagency group to devise a national strategy to combat antisemitism on Monday, the White House stated, after an increase in hateful discourse and violence.

The action comes at a time when prominent public personalities are spreading anti-Jewish venom.

The new committee, which will be led by the White House Domestic Policy and National Security councils, will interact with community leaders, government officials, lawmakers, and activists as it develops a national strategy to combat antisemitism and Holocaust denial.

The move builds on Biden’s public pledge to healing the “soul of the nation” after witnessing hate groups marching with torches and swastikas in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 2017, an incident that sparked his presidential campaign.

“This strategy will raise understanding about antisemitism and the threat it poses to the Jewish community and all Americans, address antisemitic harassment and abuse both online and offline, seek to prevent antisemitic attacks and incidents, and encourage whole-of-society efforts to counter antisemitism and build a more inclusive nation,” said press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre in a statement.

ormer President Donald Trump recently hosted Holocaust denier Nick Fuentes at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida. In an interview, the rapper Ye — formerly known as Kanye West — expressed admiration for Adolf Hitler. On social media, basketball star Kyrie Irving seemed to promote an anti-Semitic film. As new CEO Elon Musk provides “amnesty” to blocked accounts, neo-Nazi trolls are yearning to return to Twitter.

The revelation comes only a week after Doug Emhoff, Vice President Kamala Harris’ husband, hosted Jewish leaders to discuss the increase of antisemitism in the United States and around the world.

.According to the White House, the new group would also coordinate efforts to combat Islamophobia in the United States.
