At Least 9 Injured In Philadelphia Shooting After Multiple People Started Firing At A Crowd

According to NBC Philadelphia, when several shooters opened fire on a crowd on Saturday night, at least nine people—five of them critically—were hurt in Philadelphia.

According to NBC Philadelphia, the shooting took place about 10:45 p.m. when several individuals stepped out of a black car and started firing at a crowd gathered outside a bar in the Kensington section of north Philadelphia.

The shooters—whom the police believe to be three or four—then drove off in the same vehicle.  There are at least 40 pieces of ballistic evidence present.

According to authorities, the nine victims—all adults—were brought to local hospitals.

Authorities say it appears the shooters saw someone they were following and began fire, though a reason is still unknown as of Sunday.

At a press conference following the shooting on Saturday, Philadelphia Deputy Police Commissioner John Stanford noted the presence of a sizable police presence in the neighbourhood.

There are some arrogant people here, he added, who don’t care how many cops or how many people are present.

The Philadelphia Police Department is still looking into the shooting and is requesting any information that might be available.
