Video released by NBC News on Wednesday purports to show two college students purchasing meals on a late-night food truck Livestream hours before cops discovered them and two other people tragically killed at an off-campus home.
The University of Idaho students can be seen in the video purchasing carbonara and “mac of the week” at the food truck amid a flurry of early-Sunday customers. The food truck’s owner, Grub Wandering Kitchen, streamed the event live on the Twitch site.
The truck’s manager, Joseph Woodall, stated that they appeared to have been there between 1:30 and 1:40 a.m.
One of Moscow’s few late-night choices for hospital employees and students attending home parties or bars, according to Woodall, is the downtown food truck.
About 10 minutes after they appeared to have arrived, the pair left the area, but it is unclear where they went. Ethan Chapin, 20, Madison Mogen, 21, Xana Kernodle, 20, and Kaylee Goncalves, 21, were killed most likely in the “early morning hours” of Sunday, Moscow Police Chief James Fry told reporters on Wednesday.

Chapin and his girlfriend Kernodle, two of the victims, had attended a party that evening, according to Fry. Goncalves and Mogen had been at a bar in the city. After 1:45 a.m., according to Fry, the four companions arrived at the off-campus house where they were found murdered.
According to Chapin’s neighbour and friend Ellie McKnight, Kernodle, Mogen, and Goncalves resided in the home, which is a mile away from the food truck.
Just before noon on Sunday, a 911 caller reported an individual who was “unconscious,” and authorities later discovered their bodies, according to police. The murder weapon has not been located, and no suspects have been named.
Fry claimed that no proof of a forced entrance has been discovered by investigators.
Authorities think that two additional housemates who shared the residence with the victims were present at the time of the killings but were unharmed. Fry refused to elaborate on the roommates’ situation, citing the ongoing inquiry, and he claimed to be unaware of the reason why no one dialled 911 until 11:58 a.m.
He said to reporters, “Wouldn’t we have loved for it to have happened?” “Yes. But it didn’t actually happen that way. In order to try to put everything together, we are currently looking into everything.”
According to police, autopsies should be finished this week.
The victims’ relatives protested the way the probe was conducted, prompting Fry to retract earlier statements that there was no ongoing threat.
