In addition to the suspension, Ronnie Goldy, the state’s attorney for Bath, Menifee, Montgomery, and Rowan counties, risks disbarment.
The Kentucky Supreme Court has suspended a prosecutor from Eastern Kentucky who promised to assist a defendant in exchange for nude images.
Ronnie Goldy is the attorney representing the counties of Bath, Menifee, Montgomery, and Rowan. Although the court suspended him temporarily, it stated in its Friday decision that only the General Assembly might remove Goldy from office through impeachment, according to the Courier-Journal.
According to the publication, Goldy previously exchanged 230 pages of Facebook communications with a female defendant. Goldy stated at a hearing on September 8 that he didn’t recall sending the texts but did not deny doing so.
The lady testified that Goldy dropped warrants and got cases prolonged in exchange for photographs. She also claimed to have slept with the prosecutor.
Goldy might face disbarment in addition to the suspension. He did not react right away to a message from the publication.
