Rapper Tray Savage passes away at the age of 26 after being shot and killed Friday on the South Side of Chicago. The Chicago Police Department tells TMZ that Savage, who was associated with Chief Keef, was driving around 11 am when someone opened fire, striking him on the neck and shoulder.
It was reported that Tray’s car struck three other vehicles after he was hit by the bullet. Savage was rushed to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was later confirmed dead.
Some media outlets report that Tray Savage was driving his girlfriend to her house in the area at the time of the fatal shooting. Meanwhile, those that witnessed the scene claim to see a “white SUV, possibly a Mazda” speeding away from the spot. At the moment, there are no suspects, but the detectives are investigating the incident.
Kentray Young, popularly known as Tray Savage, was signed to Chief Keef and Fredo Santana’s label, Glory Boyz Entertainment, and was an original member of Chicago’s Glo Gang. Tray has some popular tracks like “Faces,” “My Set,” and his 2013 collaboration with Chief Keef, “Chiefin Keef.” In June 2019, he released his latest project, Mghs.
Tray becomes the third member of Glo Gang to die from gun violence following Mario “Blood Money” Hess in 2014 and Marvin “Capo” Carr, who was killed in a drive-by shooting in 2015.
After the news of his death, fans took to Instagram to mourn his death. “Bruh come on, say it is a joke, please…” one user commented. “Glo In peace bro,” added another.
