“Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood” star, A1 Bentley is accused of defrauding a man and his 18-year-old daughter who has dreams of becoming a star.
An artist named Carley Marie Masten and her father, Jeffrey Masten, are suing A1 Bentley (Floyd Bentley) and Sound Entertainment, court documents obtained by The Blast revealed.
The suit accuses the music producer fraud, breach of contract, intentional misrepresentation, negligent misrepresentation and conversation.
Jeffrey explains in the suit that Carly is his daughter that performs under the name “C’ Marie.” The man and his daughter claim that A1 Bentley was “a music producer with a reputation as a credible professional with hit songs to his name and was seen as an established star in the entertainment industry. Defendant Bentley’s credits include songs with renowned artists of the likes of Usher, Chris Brown, Ty Dolla Sign, Wiz Khalifa, and G-Eazy.”
The complaints accused him of having “quickly transitioned from star producer to one who began to lose his luster and become so desperate to make money he no longer cares about doing quality work, just stealing money from inexperienced people hoping to get into the music industry (as the Plaintiffs both were when they met Defendant Bentley.)”

Furthermore, they claimed that in August 2018, A1 “induced” 18-year-old C’Marie to sign a producer contract. Again, they said he claimed he would produce, write, and record songs for C’Marie and “promote and develop her career as well.”
However, of all the promises and assurances given to them by A1 Bentley, none materialized.

C’Marie also said that A1 took advantage of her father’s love for her and desire to make her dreams come alive to “induce” her to pay a whopping $376,000. She claims her father spent his “life savings” to offer her the chance she needed to be successful in the music industry. Meanwhile, A1 Bentley allegedly said the money was for the production of a 12-song album, 3 music videos, concert tour, and radio promotion.

The singer further said that A1 never completed any of those projects mentioned above. Again, she claims A1 promised to have her open for T-Pain on his tour. However, she believes he never intended for her to open and always planned for his wife, Lyrica Anderson, to be the opening act.
Finally, the suit includes accusing A1 Bentley o promising C’Marie featured on “Love & Hip Hop,” which never happened. Carley Marie Masten and her father, Jeffrey Masten, are now suing for the return of their $376,000 paid to A1 plus $1.5 million in punitive damages.
