Carlota (died 1844) was abducted from her Yoruba clan, acquired chains to Cuba as a youngster and constrained into bondage in the city of Matanzas, attempting to collect and process sugar stick under the most fierce of conditions.
She was brilliant, melodic, decided and sharp. In 1843, she and another subjugated lady named Fermina drove a composed resistance at the Triumvarato sugar estate. Fermina was bolted up after her arrangements for the insubordination were found.
She was utilizing talking drums to impart covertly. Carlota and her kindred warriors liberated Fermina and many others and proceeded to wage an efficiently furnished uprising against at any rate five merciless slave estate tasks in the territory. Carlota’s valiant fight continued for one year before she was caught, tormented and executed by Spanish landowners.
