2 Teenagers Dead & Multiple Injured In Shooting At Atlanta Apartment Complex

According to the Atlanta Police Department, a shooting at an apartment complex in southwest Atlanta on Saturday left two adolescents dead and several others hurt.

According to Atlanta Deputy Chief Charles Hampton Jr. in a media briefing on Saturday night, two boys, ages 14 and 16, were killed after a social media argument turned violent inside an apartment complex in Atlanta, Georgia.

According to the deputy chief, three more victims of gunfire—a 15-year-old girl, an 11-year-old boy, and a 15-year-old male—were also sent to nearby hospitals. However, one of the three victims received a grazing wound from a bullet, according to Hampton Jr.

Police said that social media is where the argument started. Several armed people came to the flat on Saturday around 5 o’clock, and an argument broke out there, according to Hampton Jr. Armed individuals from a different group started firing. At this moment, it is unknown how many shooters there were, but investigators think there were several.

“I hate being here, talking about kids and gunfire,” said Hampton Jr. “It’s just too many guns in the hands of our youth.”

According to Hampton Jr., police discovered the two dead outdoors and the three injured inside the residence. Atlanta Public School kids made up at least two of the victims.

“This should be a time that we are getting ready for the holidays,” he said. “We have at least two families that will be planning for funerals.”
