After being charged for an aggravated assault, Floyd Mayweather’s daughter, Yaya has tapped the former counsel of a rap icon to defend her.
Kurt Schaffer has been hired by Iyanna Mayweather to represent her against the Harris County District Attorney’s office over allegations that she stabbed NBA Youngboy‘s fiancee last month.
Previously, Schaffer had successfully defended J. Prince, the found and CEO of Houston’s Rap-a-Lot Records. In the case, J. Prince was accused of ordering Ronnie Bookman to be jumped in 2007 at a gym complex he owned. News reports at that time say that it’s because Bookman refused to sell his ownership stake in a local recording studio.
Moreover, the case was scheduled to head to trial, but prosecutors ultimately dropped it after Rap-A-Lot revealed Bookman admitted to breaking the law. Again, committing perjury in a deposition for a separate $10 million civil suit against J. Prince.
Meanwhile, Yaya Mayweather on her side, is facing serious charges right now. She was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, which, if she is convicted, will face up to 99 years in prison and a $10,000 fine. The issue came after Police said she had stabbed Lapattra Jacobs after their verbal dispute in her fiancee NBA Youngboy’s house turned physical.
According to Schaffer, his client plans to plead not guilty when she heads back to court on the case in August 2020, Bossip reports.
