One teen was killed and another was injured in a Shooting at a high school homecoming game in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Friday night, according to authorities. The shooter is still at large.

According to McClain’s website, the incident happened just before 10 p.m. at the science and technology high school, where the football team was playing another Oklahoma club, Miami High School.

According to authorities, one 17-year-old victim was declared dead at the site, while another 17-year-old was brought to a nearby hospital where they were initially in critical condition but later stabilized. The victims’ affiliation with either school is unknown.

In a statement, police claimed that their Friday night hunt for a suspect was fruitless.

“Dozens of Officers converged in the area assisting with crowd control and looking for the suspect,” police said. “Our K-9 Unit and several officers scoured the nearby neighbourhoods as we believe the suspect took off on foot. Unfortunately, the trail went cold.”

The suspect, a 17-year-old male who is armed and dangerous, is described by police.

Requests for comment from the Tulsa Police Department were not immediately fulfilled.

As players from the competing teams shook hands after the game, shots were heard, according to NBC Tulsa station KJRH.

“What occurred last night was horrific for all who were present,” Miami Public Schools Superintendent Nick Highsmith said in a statement following the shooting. “I am still struggling to process everything I witnessed and the tragedy that occurred.”

Highsmith also pledged that “as long as I am Superintendent of Schools, Miami will not travel to Tulsa McClain again to participate in any school activity.”

“I cannot allow our players, students, staff, and family members to return to a place where we have repeatedly been put in danger,” he continued.
