According to a statement, two security guards, two teachers, and five students were killed in the shooting at a school in Izhevsk, a city located about 596 miles east of Moscow in the Udmurtia region posted online by Russia’s Investigative Committee.
In a video statement, Alexander Brechalov, the governor of Udmurtia, claimed that the as-yet unidentified shooter had killed himself.
Children in the first through eleventh grades were taught there. According to the governor, it has been evacuated, and the area around it has been walled off. No information has been made public on the shooter or his intentions.
