Nurse Saves A Baby Who Stopped Breathing On Spirit Airlines Flight To Florida

A nurse is being praised for her bravery after saving a 3-month-old baby who had stopped breathing on a flight from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Orlando, Florida.

According to Fox affiliate WOFL in Orlando, the nurse, Tamara Panzino, was on Spirit Airlines Flight 1691 Thursday night when baby Anjelé experienced a medical emergency about 30 minutes after takeoff.

She stated that she immediately acted and began massaging the baby’s chest and legs. The baby soon resumed breathing.
Ian Cassette, a meteorologist for the news station, was on the flight and witnessed the incident.

“A baby stopped breathing three rows ahead of me on my flight from Pittsburgh to Orlando. Thankfully, a nurse (Tamara Panzino) was able to re-establish the baby’s breathing, “Cassette wrote in a series of tweets, accompanied by a video of passengers clapping and cheering for Panzino.

Panzino, a nurse for more than 20 years, told the news station that being able to help made her “feel really good.”

Cassette spoke with the baby’s parents behind closed doors. He stated that they were terrified and had never experienced anything like that.
“They praised the plane’s positive energy and Tamara’s heroic actions in saving her,” Cassette tweeted.

The plane touched down safely in Orlando. On Saturday, Spirit Airlines did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
