At the beginning of this month, the judge presiding over the case announced that the case would be due for trial on May 12, 2020, and it would be a bench trial, and the final decision left for the judge instead of being decided by a jury.
Meanwhile, Bossip reported last year that Stevie J had sued Joseline for the custody of their daughter because she had cut him out of her life while living in Miami with another man. He claimed that he had more mental and financial capabilities to care for Bonnie Bella and requested that the judge compel Joseline to pay him child support.
In line with finding a lasting solution with the custody case, the judge has asked a child advocate (“guardian ad litem”) to be involved in the case to evaluate both Stevie and Joseline eligibility to parent. The report would be given to the judge.
However, Joseline has had primary custody of the girl so she can continue with her schooling in Miami, but Stevie has refused to pay her child support.
