Today, the 24/2/2020 will be a memorable day for all of us in the black community, as it would be the day a memorial service will be held in honour of legendary basketballer Kobe Bryant, and his daughter, Gigiana Bryant, who died in a helicopter crash last month.

The date which, as well as the ticket price ($24.02), were both chosen in other to reflect the memory of Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gigiana. 24 was the number Kobe Bryant wore during his basketball professional days, and 2 was that of Gigiana.
The ceremony will take place at the Staples Centre, as reports have stated that thousands already bought tickets to attend the ceremony, as more than 88,000 persons purchased the ticket in its first 5 hours of the sale. However, the Staples Centre only holds a population capacity for 20,000 persons.
Initially, the idea was for the memorial to be held at the L.A Coliseum, however, it was changed to the Staples Centre since that was where Kobe Bryant played professionally for 20 years. it is also important to note that the memorials for Michael Jackson and Nipsey Hussle were held in the Staples Centre, respectively.
Rest In Power, Kobe and Gigiana, from all of us at Crumour.
