In one of America’s most extensive hydroelectric facilities, a transformer caught fire and exploded but was quickly extinguished before it could cause any more damage. It, however, left a cloud of thick black smoke in the air. The explosion did not tamper with the Electricity Distribution to cities such as Arizona, Nevada and Southern California, where the Hoover Dam is the power source.
The cause of the explosion is still being investigated, and the officials are still trying to determine how much damage has been done to the transformer. Jacklynn Gould, a regional director for the U.S Bureau of Reclamation, assured everyone in a statement that the fire posed no risk to the power grid as the fire was extinguished very quickly. Tourists who were close said they had heard an alarm go off and felt the ground beneath them rumble.
Thankfully, the fire was put out fast enough, and no one got hurt.
