The sandals Steve Jobs wore while pacing the floors of the ancient California home where he and Ronald Wayne co-founded Apple has reportedly sold for close to $220,000.
According to Julien’s Auctions, the “well-used” brown suede Birkenstocks from the middle of the 1970s brought in the highest amount ever paid for a pair of sandals.
The auction company stated in the item on its website that the cork and jute footbed “retains the impression of Steve Jobs’ feet, which had been sculpted after years of use.”
The sandals were anticipated to sell for $60,000, but Julien’s said that the final sale price with an accompanying NFT was $218,750. No buyer’s name was provided.
In Los Altos, California, in the home of Jobs’ parents, Steve Wozniak and Jobs co-founded Apple in 1976. The Los Altos Historical Commission designated the property a historic site in 2013.
Jobs passed away in 2011 as a result of pancreatic cancer complications.
