Three people were killed after falling through ice on a lake in central Arizona.
They were walking on Woods Canyon Lake, about 30 miles from Payson in central Arizona, when they fell through.
Narayana Muddana, 49, Gokul Mediseti, 47, and Haritha Muddana have been identified as the victims, according to the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office. The age of Haritha Muddana was unknown.
They lived in Chandler, Arizona, and were originally from India, according to officials.
Officials said that emergency crews discovered Haritha Muddana’s body Monday night and that they were still looking for the other victims.
“Responding deputies and fire units were able to pull the female from the water and administer life-saving measures but were unsuccessful,” the sheriff’s office said Tuesday in a statement.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies then obtained a boat from a lake rental service and conducted a more extensive search.
The three were discovered and identified on Tuesday.
The incident is being investigated.
