The Philadelphia Police Department released security video of the minutes leading up to Teryn Johnson’s death on Wednesday.
According to police footage released this week, a gunman followed two individuals before fatally shooting a 17-year-old girl strolling down a Philadelphia street with a friend and dog.
Teryn Johnson was fatally shot soon before 9 p.m. in northeast Philadelphia. Sunday, according to police.
The Philadelphia Police Department released security video of the incident and the minutes leading up to it on Wednesday.
The footage shows a dark-coloured Dodge Challenger parked in a traffic lane with its hazard lights on as Johnson and another person with a dog pass by.
According to the footage, the automobile rounds a corner and sits for two minutes until Johnson and his companion walk by.
Following that, a figure can be seen in the footage rushing across the street. According to the footage, the individual crouches, hides behind a van and glances about.
A different viewpoint of the video appears to show the individual gesticulating to the Challenger as it approaches. The individual climbs into the passenger seat, and the vehicle goes a short distance before coming to a stop, as shown in the video.
According to the footage, someone jumps out of the passenger side, starts a fire, and flees back to the car.
According to police, the shooter fired six times, striking Johnson twice.
She attempted to flee but fell.
According to authorities, the other person she was with was not physically hurt.
According to authorities, Johnson was transferred to Temple University Hospital and died there.
According to police inspector D F Pace, the victim and gunman did not appear to know each other according to the station. The reason was unknown.
