Kanye West’s Presidential run is dealt with a great blow, at least in Illinois, where election officials say that more than half his submitted signatures are invalid, which means he is off the ballot.
According to TMZ, multiple people stepped up to object after Kanye West submitted his petition to get on the ballot in his home state. Hence, triggering a review from the State Board of Elections on all the 3,128 signatures on his documents.
Following the review, 1,928 signatures were ruled invalid. Thus, leaving Ye way more than a thousand short of the 2,500 needed to be a Presidential candidate on the state’s ballots. However, the report didn’t reveal what went wrong with the bad signatures. Moreover, it could be any number of issues, such as fake names, fake addresses, unregistered voters in Illinois, or even simply an illegible signature.
In other words, it means that Illinois will be officially removing Kanye on August 21, or he still has the option to gracefully announce he’s withdrawing.
Despite Illinois not considered a swing state in the Presidential campaign, it’s a big blow for Kanye West, not only because he is from Chicago, but he boldly declared that his “goal is to win” recently.
Kanye even posted his 2020 vision board that included the number 46, which signifies the 46th President of the United States.
Before now, the road to the White House had appeared near impossible for Kanye West, but it just got a little bit harder at the moment!
