Joe Biden Considering A Trip To Europe In Show Of Support For Ukraine After One Year Of War

According to three administration officials and a person familiar with the conversations, President Joe Biden is thinking about travelling to Europe next month to mark the anniversary of Russia‘s invasion of Ukraine.

Poland is one of the potential places, according to two of the sources.

According to the sources, the White House is looking into how Biden can commemorate the Ukraine War’s first anniversary. They claimed that the objective was for Biden to take advantage of the occasion to highlight Ukraine’s fortitude in the face of Russia’s ruthless military operation and to reaffirm American support for the Ukrainian people as the conflict moves into a new stage.

According to three U.S. officials, the Biden administration has also considered launching yet another significant military aid package for Ukraine on the anniversary of Russia’s invasion.

The president’s travel is still up in the air, according to administration officials and the source with knowledge of the negotiations.

“We don’t currently have any travel plans for the anniversary,” a National Security Council official said in a statement in response to a question about a potential presidential trip to Europe next month around the anniversary of the Ukraine War.

One administration official said, “planning for the anniversary is underway and of course, we are exploring a variety of options that the U.S. can do to support Ukraine, but nothing is set or decided upon yet.”

Biden will have the opportunity to engage in personal diplomacy with important leaders on the continent during a trip to Europe next month.
