Families of passengers who died in the helicopter crash with Kobe and Gigiana Bryant sue Helicopter company

Bereaved members of the families of the four victims who died alongside legendary basketball player, Kobe Bryant, and his daughter, Gianna, in a helicopter crash, have sued the helicopter company for the wrongful deaths of the victims. This is coming also, after Kobe Bryant’s widow, Vanessa Bryant already filed a similar suit against the helicopter company.

The bereaved family members of the Altobelli family, and the Mauser family, assert that the helicopter company, Island Express’s negligence was reason for the death of their loved ones. The bereaved family members, on their respective suits, claim that Island Express violated its duty to manage, control and operate the helicopter in question, in such a manner that is considered reasonable.

The suit also claims that this negligence by the helicopter company has led to the direct demise of their loved ones, causing them so much pain, both physically and emotionally, as well as mentally. Owing to this, the families are seeking for damages, over their own pain, and that of their deceased family members.

On the other hand, Island Express will end up going bankrupt, if they end up paying damages to the both families, as well as to Vanessa Bryant too. However, Island Express has stated that despite how tragic the incident was, they still maintained their innocence in the matter. Earlier reports suggests that the Los Angeles Police Department had grounded the fleet of helicopters belonging to Island Express on the morning of the helicopter crash that led to the death of Kobe Bryant, due to bad weather.
