DaBaby Wins Lawsuit Over 2020 Miami Brawl

DaBaby and his legal team are celebrating a significant victory that has taken years to achieve: he has won a battery claim relating to a 2020 incident.

You’ll remember… Initial accusations against DaBaby and his gang included charges of assault and robbery against event promoter Kenneth Carey and a friend.

They claimed to have misplaced personal belongings, including cash and a phone, in an altercation captured on camera by onlookers.

The argument centered on money due for a Miami event that Carey organized and hired DaBaby to host. The dispute over money amounts escalated into a street brawl.

DaBaby was no longer facing a criminal violence charge, but the event nonetheless resulted in a $6 million federal lawsuit against him. On Monday, the jury delivered its verdict, siding with the “Bop” artist.

His attorney Drew Findling says: “Along with our client, Jonathan Kirk (DaBaby), we are thrilled that this federal jury, after a five-day trial, came to the same conclusion that we have maintained for almost 3 years – that these plaintiffs were attempting to use the legal system to shake down Mr. Kirk.”

Drew continued, “Mr. Kirk deserves all the credit in the world for not caving in to these plaintiffs’ cash demands and having the confidence in the facts and his legal team to take this to a jury trial for a complete and total victory!”
